About Us

As a qualified Secondary School teacher and the current Head of Biology, I bring a wealth of multidisciplinary experience in tutoring various subjects. Since 2015, I have dedicated myself to understanding each student’s unique needs, helping them build confidence and excel academically. My expertise spans from primary education to A-levels, with a focus on tailoring learning experiences to each student’s individual strengths and areas for growth. My approach is holistic, ensuring that students not only grasp subject knowledge but also master the exam techniques needed to excel in their assessments.
Over the years, I have developed and provided a variety of resources to support learning, offering scaffolding when necessary to help students achieve their full potential. My sessions are designed to stretch and challenge students, with high expectations set through weekly homework and thought-provoking tasks. I also offer personalized support with home learning, adapting to each student’s needs and goals.
A key component of my teaching philosophy is ongoing assessment for learning. During our sessions, I continuously evaluate progress and address any misconceptions that could hinder understanding. This proactive approach ensures that students build a strong and accurate knowledge base, essential for long-term success.
My experience extends to working with various exam boards, which has given me a deep insight into common pitfalls and how to guide students to avoid them. Additionally, my involvement in marking exam papers during the summer provides me with a unique perspective on what examiners are looking for, allowing me to prepare my students with strategies that are directly aligned with exam expectations.
Through my tutoring, I aim to instill a positive attitude towards learning, regardless of a student’s starting point. I believe that with the right guidance and mindset, every student can achieve their academic goals. My commitment is to equip each learner with the skills and confidence they need to excel, both in their current studies and in their future educational endeavors.
